Poetry: Late

Poem for time challenged folk

Today’s poem was one written many years ago – I have a fair few of these! I was playing with the concept of alliteration and wondering how to describe what happens when you are never on time for anything. Probably, this would have been prompted by the many years I have spent waiting for others – they KNOW who they are 🙂 I wanted to finish the piece with a cry for help; hence the SOS.

Late.time

Lazily lounging

Lascivious longing lurks

In this lordly lair.

Still, late.

Regret.

Rueful remorse

Rushing, ruining reverie

Repining roles

Alas, regret.

Certainty.

Celestial celerity

Censuring centripetal chaos

Calmly constant.

Certainty.

Sacked.

Over.

Stopped.
